There seems to be a trend right now as companies announce one by one “the lightest notebook in the world”. That’s the case for Toshiba introducing their Portégé R700 Notebook Series and announcing it as the world’s lightest 13.3-inch notebook.
The Portégé R700 Series comes in two models, namely the Portégé R700-S1332W and the Portégé R700-S1322W and one of the onteresting features these two introduce is the WIMAX 4G capability.
The Portégé R700-S1332W is the star of the series and comes powered by an Intel Core i7-620M processor, featuring a 128GB SSD for extra-storage space and 4GB of DDR3 memory while the Portege R700-S1322W packs the power of an Intel Core i5-560M processor, with a 320GB storage space and 4GB of RAM.
The two models come with an integrated Intel graphics card, a 13.3-inch LED-Backlit Display, a wide TouchPad with customizable Multi-touch Control, integrated webcam, a built-in DVD SuperMulti burner, eSata and USB Combo, ExpressCard Slot and a integrated Card Reader as well.
The Toshiba Portégé R700-S1332W and R700-S1322W come with price tags of $1699 and $1349 respectively.
