Sony Xperia Nypon Coming in Spring 2012
Sony Ericsson has been around for a while now and has gathered some fans ever since the companies joined their forces. Separately, both companies outed a few great phones in the past but when they started running into financial troubles, they decided to join their forces and create a new brand – Sony Ericsson.
Sony Ericsson has been a success and their phones clearly have the edge on the smartphone market. I am one of their fans and I had two different phones from the company in the past. Both the Sony Ericsson TXT PRO and the Sony Ericsson Walkman Mix are two phones that I now own and enjoy very much.
Sony has finally bought Ericsson’s part in the joint company, so after the Sony Ericsson Xperia Arc HD, the company now owned entirely by Sony has started to release phones under the sole brand name.
A new smartphone is ready to take on the smartphone market under the Sony brand, the Xperia Nyphon. The name is actually pretty interesting, as Sony probably wants to establish the fact the the company is now entirely Japanese and the Ericsson name is no longer a part of the deal.
The leaked shots of the Sony Xperia Nypon reveal a great looking smartphone, reminding of the old Sony Ericsson phones and brings pretty interesting features to the table.
The Sony Xperia Nypon has been equipped with a new dual core processor, the NovaThor U8500, 1GB dual channel RAM, Sony’s 8 megapixel Exmor R camera on the rear and most likely a 2 megapixel camera on the front, a 4 inch AMOLED display featuring a qHD resolution and last but not least an option between 16GB or 32GB onboard memory.
The Sony Xperia Nypon will be running on Android Gingerbread for now, but it will soon receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update. The Xperia Nypon will most likely become available in the Spring of 2012.
We can’t tell you the price of the Xperia Nypon right now, however it seems that the Sony brand will continue to release stylish phones with high-end specs and a pretty high price tag as well.
Some of the specs might also change by the time this phone is released on the market, as will the stylish package.
Until then, you may want to check out the Samsung Galaxy Indulge review and tell me what you think about that one.
