Here’s a worthy competitor for the Galaxy note. Pantech has decided to release their second generation Vega Racer smartphone, the world’s first ever smartphone to come in a ceramic body.
This one has been equipped with a huge 4.8-inch touchscreen display that’s bound to compete with the Galaxy Note in terms of size and maybe offer an alternative to users.
Aside from the 4.8-inch 720p display, the Vega Racer 2 is powered by a dual-core Qualcomm processor running at 1.5Ghz and also comes with LTE connectivity. Pantech hopes many Korean users will be looking for an upgrade for their first Vega Racer smartphone, which has sold pretty well in the past.
The novelty from Pantech is the ceramic body featured in the Vega Racer 2 which is said to be much more durable than plastic. We’ll just have to look for some tests on it, but it’s very likely that we’ll see more ceramic-encased smartphones in the future.
The Pantech Vega Racer 2 will soon make its way to South Korean users and should also arrive to US users in the near future.
