HTC has announced its intention to release the successor of the popular Desire smartphone, the HTC Desire S. The announcement came in a press release, where the company also mentions that the Desire S model has been inspired by the HTC Legend model and has been made from a single block of aluminum weighing just 130 grams and measuring 115 x 59.8 x 11.63mm.
The new HTC Desire S will pe powered by a Qualcomm 1Ghz 8255 Snapdragon processor, also coming with 768MB of RAM and 1.1 GB of internal storage space as well as a microSD card slot on-board if you want to extend its storage capacity.
HTC announced that the Desire S will run on the Android 2.4 Gingerbread OS while other interesting features include GPS, Bluetooth 2.1, digital compass, light sensor, WiFi b/g/n, a fron video camera for video-calls and a 5 megapixel camera with auto-focus. You will be able to control this Android smartphone with the aid of its 3.7-inch WVGA (800 x 480) touchscreen display and even record 720p videos.
