HP is famous for its high-quality products so it was just a matter of time until the company would start getting into the ultrabook business.

The Envy 14 Spectre from HP is the first ultrabook from the company and is truly a handsome and high-performance machine, that’s bound to attract some costumers upon release.

In terms of design, HP has done everything in its power to remind users of the MacBook Pro once again. The HP Envy 14 Spectre is a 14 inch ultrabook and comes powered by a 2.30 Ghz Intel i5 processor aided by 4GB of SDRAM. The graphics side of the Envy ultrabook is handled by an integrated Intel HD Graphics 3000 graphics card, which won’t be enough if you want to play a game on this one.

You will, however, be able to playback 720p and 1080p Full HD video and type comfortably in the dark thanks to the backlit keyboard. There’s a 128GB hard drive coming with the HP Envy and you’ll also get a 64-bit Windows 7 Home Premium edition upon purchase. HP says that the Envy 14 will run for up to 9.5 hours in a single charge which is a pretty decent life span for this ultrabook.

HP has chosen to offer the basics with their Envy 14 Spectre ultrabook that will serve as a perfect work companion for anyone and will look amazing on any business desk. If however you’re thinking of using this one for multimedia and gaming you’d better think twice before choosing the HP Envy 14 Spectre.
