G-Technology G-DRIVE Mobile
G-Technology is actually a part of Hitachi, a company that brought a lot of storage solutions over the years. This time, G0Technology introduces two new mobile hard drives that are compatible with MacBooks, MacBook Pro and Air, by the name of G-Drive Mobile and G-Drive Mobile USB.
Both if these new hard drives are based on Hitachi’s Travlestart 5K1000, which is actually the first 1TB 2.5-inch hard drive featuring SATA III 6Gbps interface for amazing speeds. The Travlestart 5K1000 features a 8MB cache memory and rotation speeds up to 5400RPM.
G-Technology G-DRIVE mobile USB
The G-DRIVE mobile comes with USB 2.0 connectivity and also FireWire 800 that will ensure a fast data transfer, while the G-DRIVE movile USB only provides a USB interface. These two are bus-powered, meaning they won’t need an additional power supply.
G-Technology releases a 1TB version of the G-DRIVE and also a 750GB version that will cost $149.99 upon release. The 1TB version of the G-DRIVE mobile USB will be a bit more expensive, at $179.99.
