Commodore C64x Keyboard PC

On March 27, 2012, in Computers, by Marty

Here’s an interesting gadget reminding nostalgics of passed times. This retro looking keyboard is much more than a keyboard, but a full fledged PC.

Commodore USA launches the new C64x keyboard PC, coming with a mini-IXT PC motherboard and powered by a Intel Atom D2700 2.13 Ghz dual-core processor and 4GB of DDR3 memory. You only need to hook it up to your monitor and you’re good to go. The graphics side of the Commodore C64x is handled by NVIDIA’s GeForce GT520 featuring 512MB RAM.

The Commodore C64x keyboard PC has been equipped with a Blu-Ray drive and can house either a 3TB SATA hard drive or a 600GB Intel 320 SSD. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi and Gigabit Ethernet as well as a multi-card reader.

This one comes pre-loaded with the Commodore OS Vision OS, which is actually the company’s own Linux distribution and you’ll be able to play your old 8-bit game collection once again.

The Commodore C64x Supreme keyboard PC will cost $1295 while the Barebone version will cost just $345.

Wow how cool! Hate to say I’m old enough to have had one of the original 64s, it does bring back nostalgia. I hope it is a big hit for Commodore.
