Casio has left a lasting impression at this year’s CES show in Las Vegas when it displayed their new rugged Android phone prototype to the public.
This rugged smartphone has been named G-Shock and aside from its impressive looks, there’re also a few great features to take into account.
Casio has already released a rugged smartphone in partnership with Verizon just last year, and this one is the company’s second try. Casio’s G’Z0ne was the first rugged smartphone model and it enjoyed a fair amount of success upon launch. The G’Z0ne was a tough phone, but if we listen to Casio, this one is even tougher.
Casio’s G-Shock rugged smartphone has left a lasting impression on its audience due to its shock resistant feature and rugged looks, as you can see from the pictures. Casio performed a series of tests on the G-Shock and let every one know that this phone will have no problem being dropped from up to 10 feet high. Even more impressive is that, according to Casio, the G-Shock is able to take a ton of pressure is applied to the case. That means you can drive your car over it without leaving noticeable marks on this one.
Further more, the Casio G-Shock is waterproof and it will work fine under 10 meters of water if you were thinking about taking a dive with your phone in the pocket.
There’s a resin/plastic material covering this rugged phone and lending it it’s resistance to pressure, while the back of this device is made out of metal. Apart from the metal case, on the rear of the device, you’ll also be able to find a camera with LED flash.
You can see that the G-Shock is not your usual slim design smartphone, but if you need a phone that you can use in harsh conditions this one just might be the one for you.
Casio hasn’t released any details about pricing or availability at ths moment.
